What is your wedding dress and what did it cost?

My FMIL thinks I am out of line for spending $1,100 on a dress. I am trying to tell her that it is actually pretty average for a full A line...not quite a ball gown dress with a corset, beading and a bustle. She seems to think it is over the top. Not that she has pitched in anything for our wedding other than her opinion...wich is fine, but slamming me over what we are spending on my dress is kinda annoying. I mean I watch these shows on TV where these girls go to NY to buy a dress and spend $5-30 thousand bucks. I just don't think my dress is out of line in the finances. So I am just curious about what people really are spending on their dresses and for what kind. Thanks.
