What is a word that describes someone who tries hard to impress others to feel liked by peers and to fit in?

Heres a few words that sort of fit that ..Imitated, Put-On, Spurious, Braggart, Wannabe, Name-dropper. None of these are perfect though sorry. I was trying to remeber a word perfect for that and I thought it had the word pecker in it. LOL!
