Methods and statistics?

the median is just the value where 50% of the people will read faster and 50% will read slower. The mean is subject to outliers, so having a few people with very slow reading times could increase the mean where as the median would not move, putting the median < mean. However, a set of speed readers come into the study, decreasing the mean and the median > mean. It depends a lot on the sample size here too. With a significantly large sample size I would expect the mean ≈ median.
