I found an injured bird... What do I do?

My cat brought a bird to my house... It is injured but alive... I spent three hours chasing it and trying to catch it... I put it in a makeshift cage with a soft floor. I gave it water and some bread crumbs and a cherry. I came to check on it after an hour and there is bit of blood on the floor of the cage. What do I do?
