Is it time we re-wrote the bible?
Well, let's look at it this way. The word "bible" from the ancient Greek "Byblos" and Latin "biblia" means books. Different sects of Christianity either uses the KJV or a version of it, or they also use apocrypha. The Apocrypha is a collection of writings that is not included in the accepted canon of the KJV. It has been already re-translated many times over, even after 1611. Just look at the more simplified versions, such as the NAB, NKJV, etc. What would you have Christians, Jews, and Muslims do with the written scripture? Remember, these books, letters, songs, stories, philosophical essays and quotes were written by men and women that were inspired and talked directly to God. Also, I see that some still refer to the pages of "do not add or subtract from this book" verses. A number of times from those that have read the Bible should know that these verses are not talking about the canon as we know it, but of the book itself. I don't no any more clear I can make it. Think very clearly, Deuteronomy was the last of the five books authored by Moses, yet books were written after he taken. Revelations of the NT as records have shown was among the earlier books written after the resurrection of Jesus. Would then the books after Deuto. and Rev. be considered adding to the canon? If so, then the whole truths of the canon is false and can't be relied on. I believe the Bible to be the writings of prophets and those inspired by the will of God.
